Cirque performers stick together for world record 10 years ago

Ten years ago on June 16, 2009, on the company’s anniversary, over 250 Cirque du Soleil performers from six different Las Vegas shows put on stilts to participate with four other Cirque companies in Montreal, Orlando, Moscow and Macau, for the Guinness World Record for the most people walking on stilts in multiple venues simultaneously.

Democrats introduced Senate Bill 545 yesterday. It would move the proceeds from the sales tax
tax on the retail sale of marijuana into the Distributive School Account. Speaker Jason Frierson
said the move would send “about $120 million to the DSA over the biennium.” The Clark
County School District says it needs $120 million more to fund the raises promised by Sisolak.
Combine those two bits of information and it looks like a solution is in sight. In reality, this move doesn’t change education funding by one dime.

On February 19th, 2019, at approximately 10:23 am, a robbery occurred to a business located on the 3000 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard. The pictured suspect entered the business, approached the counter and pointed a firearm at the victim demanding money. The victim complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.

The Las Vegas Aviators’ new home is one step closer to being ready for the April 9 home opener. The Las Vegas Ballpark crew is just about done laying down the Bandera Bermuda grass that will host the former Las Vegas 51’s.

Aviators’ President Don Logan says this ballpark has been a long time coming. He feels Las Vegas has and will always be a baseball town and now loyal fans will have the state-of-the-art facility they deserve.

The Aviators’ home opener will be on Tuesday, April 9 vs. Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
