Hard Rock announces expansion of meeting and convention space

Executives of the Hard Rock Hotel topped off the $15 million expansion of its meetings and convention space Monday with a ceremony for the project that will bring the property’s meeting space to 110,000 square feet.

Jody Lake, chief operating officer of the Hard Rock Hotel, general manager Gary Scott, Drew Varga, vice president of operations and construction workers signed steel beams that were moved into place for the 18,000-square-foot expansion that is expected to be completed by winter.

The project also includes adding 5,000 square feet for back-of-the-house storage and office space, new exterior signage along Paradise Road, the relocation of the property’s business center and grouping contiguous meeting space and event venues.

“The expansion of Hard Rock Hotel’s meetings and convention space is a demonstration of how we stay in the forefront of the Las Vegas market,” Varga said at the ceremony. “In town, you won’t find another hotel with the high-energy and entertaining environment that we can offer to groups.”

Among the amenities planned for the expansion are the installation of Category 5 Ethernet cabling, Wi-Fi and a program to create customizable sound, light, mood and banquet packages.
