Sanders’ Our Revolution group endorses Owen Carver for Las Vegas Assembly seat

Our Revolution, a political nonprofit organization tied to former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, has endorsed Owen Carver, the Democratic candidate running in the Assembly District 2 race in Las Vegas.

Carver, who has a web development company, is running against Republican Assembly Speaker John Hambrick. Our Revolution’s endorsement of Carver highlighted the candidate’s platform that includes free higher education.

The endorsement was announced as part of a rollout on Wednesday that supports seven candidates across the nation. The progressive group backs candidates who reflect policies echoing those that Sanders espoused on the campaign trail, including equal pay, a $15-an-hour minimum wage, and free tuition at public colleges.

The organization has endorsed 70 candidates across the nation so far, including three other Democratic candidates in Nevada: Brittney Miller in Assembly District 5, Nicole Cannizzaro in state Senate District 6, and Devon Reese in state Senate District 15.
