Arbor View’s Keith Williams led at the front of a pack of five runners early. Eventually, he managed to hold off PahrumpValley’s Bryce Odegard and Centennial’s Alexander Miller in the final quarter mile, putting in a good finishing kick to cross the line in 16 minutes and 13 seconds.
Sydnie Hopkins scored the go-ahead goal with five minutes remaining to lift the Basic’s girls soccer team to a 2-1 home victory over Moapa Valley on Friday.
