Spring Valley opened a 21-6 lead over Coronado in the second round of the Desert Region tournament and coasted to an 82-55 home win. The 82 points are a season high for the Grizzlies, who led by as many as 30 points in the second half.
Caitlyn Covington scored 13 points Friday to help Shadow Ridge’s girls basketball team top host Palo Verde, 51-45 in overtime
Areli Ponce had 21 points Wednesday as Virgin Valley’s girls basketball team earned a 42-39 overtime win over host Sunrise Mountain.
Taysia Tovia scored 20 points on Monday as Liberty’s girls basketball team earned a 62-57 double-overtime victory over visiting Green Valley.
Kelsey Howryla scored 13 points Saturday to lead Faith Lutheran’s girls basketball team to a 49-38 road victory over Silverado.
