Tim Chambers’ days as UNLV’s baseball coach are coming to an end, according to an online report.
UNLV baseball forges ahead in the wake of coach Tim Chambers being arrested earlier this month in connection with driving under the influence and being put on administrative leave by the university.
The UNLV baseball team will open its 2016 season Feb. 19 with a three-game series at the University of Texas to kick off a challenging non-conference schedule that also includes road games at Cal State Fullerton and San Diego, home games against Ohio State, West Virginia and Texas Tech and a home-and-home series against Arizona State.
Former UNLV pitcher Joey Lauria decided not to sign with his hometown Philadelphia Phillies after being drafted in the 25th round and offered a signing bonus of only $1,000. He instead will be a graduate assistant under coach Tim Chambers at UNLV.
