The UNLV men’s basketball team will play three exhibition games in Nassau, Bahamas. The games are expected to be from Aug. 14 to 17.

Former UNLV basketball player Patrick McCaw agreed to a guaranteed two-year deal with the Golden State Warriors after being taken in the second round of NBA Draft on Thursday, according to Yahoo Sports.
Former UNLV player Patrick McCaw was taken with the eighth pick (38th overall) in the second round by the Milwaukee Bucks, who then traded his rights to the Golden State Warriors for cash. Three picks later, teammate Stephen Zimmerman Jr. went to the Orlando Magic.

UNLV faces its former coach, Dave Rice, on Feb. 8 at UNR and Feb. 25 at the Thomas & Mack Center. Rice, who was fired Jan. 10 midway through his fifth season, is an assistant coach for the Wolf Pack.
Austin Starr, a freshman walk-on last season for the UNLV basketball team, signed with the College of Southern Idaho.
UNLV released its nonconference schedule Wednesday. The Rebels’ 18-game Mountain West schedule will be announced at a later date.
Christian Jones, a 6-foot-7-inch forward, transferred from St. John’s to UNLV on Tuesday. He is a graduate transfer who will be eligible to play next basketball season.
A memorial service for former UNLV basketball player Bryce Dejean-Jones will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First AME Church of Los Angeles.
UNLV is making a play for recruits in the ESPN.com list of top 100 prospects for the 2017 basketball class. Las Vegas also is represented by three players on that list.
With no guaranteed money game on UNLV’s 2016 football schedule and men’s basketball ticket sales down 5 percent from last year at this time, the school is projected to have a budget deficit of $1.5 million to $3 million in 2016-17.
Jovan Mooring, who will enter UNLV as a junior, was named the Spalding NJCAA Division II Player of the Year after leading his team to a 34-4 record and third-place finish at the NJCAA DII Championships.
