The Bishop Gorman baseball team advanced to Saturday’s Class 5A state title game in Reno. The Gaels will play Desert Oasis, which won an elimination game late Friday.
Desert Oasis shut down Northern champion Bishop Manogue, and Bishop Gorman handled Damonte Ranch in the opening round of the Class 5A state baseball tournament.
In the first year of Chris Sheff’s second stint as the Bishop Gorman baseball coach, the Gaels enter Thursday’s Class 5A state tournament as the favorite to win the title.
An inside-the-park home run ignited Bishop Gorman’s offense as it pulled away from Desert Oasis to claim the Class 5A Southern Region baseball title Friday.
