But the girls dominated throughout, scoring 156 points to easily get past second-place Truckee, which finished with 111 points. It was the sixth consecutive championship for the Eagles’ boys and the fourth straight for the girls.
Dewayne Alexander scored 14 points, including two free throws in the final seconds, to lead Cheyenne’s boys basketball team to a 62-60 victory over visiting Western on Thursday.
Koreyl Godbolt had 20 points and 10 rebounds Thursday as Cheyenne’s girls basketball team held on to upset visiting Western 48-43 in a Division I-A Sunset League game.
