Boys Basketball
Martel Williams, a 6-foot-3 muscular, junior wing, scored 24 of his 38 points after halftime, and added 10 rebounds in an 85-74 home victory Wednesday night over Green Valleyin the second round of the Desert Region tournament.
Eldorado struggled against the Bengals’ 1-3-1 zone, and Bonanza rolled to a 63-45 road win in the opening round of the Mountain Region tournament.
Alexander Spaight scored 22 points Thursday to help host Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team rally by Cheyenne, 68-67.
Martell Williams and Leandrew Menefee each had a double-double Tuesday to help host Silverado’s boys basketball team to a 72-54 win over Sierra Vista.
A’Mari James had 25 points Friday as Spring Valley’s boys basketball team earned a 76-71 road win over Sierra Vista.
