A late turnover helped the Bishop Gorman boys basketball team defeat Coronado to win the Class 5A state title Friday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Liberty only beat Bishop Gorman once in four tries, but it came in an overtime classic that netted the Patriots their first boys basketball state championship.
Coronado High star guard Jaden Hardy was named a McDonald’s All-American on Tuesday. He averaged 30.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 8.4 assists in the 2019-20 season.

Jamal Bey had 21 points and seven rebounds as Bishop Gorman beat Bishop Manogue 62-41 to claim the Class 4A boys state basketball title. It was Gorman’s seventh consecutive title.
