College recruiters often see Chaparral’s football field from the highway as they drive past to see local prospects. A few of those coaches are actually stopping at the school this season thanks in part to senior Richard Nelson.

NOTES: Liberty softball duo Olmos, Rodriguez commit to Duke

Marisa Olmos and Ashleigh Rodriguez met when they were in fifth grade. They went to the same middle school, played travel softball together the past six years and now are juniors at Liberty.
