The Patriots foursome of David Leathers, Tyeese Blackman, Rudy Distrito and Cervantes White won the Sunrise Region championship in 42.84 seconds at Basic High School on Saturday afternoon to clinch aberth in Reno for the Class 4A state track meet this weekend. Coronado swept the boys and the girls titles.
Thomas Dougherty and Justin Watterson each won two individual events and ran on the winning 1,600-meter relay team Friday to help Coronado’s boys track team win the Sunrise FAST Classic freshman and sophomore meet at Green Valley.
Aeneas Davis won the 300-meter hurdles and high jump Wednesday to lead Silverado’s boys track team to victory in a three-team meet at Green Valley.

Dillon Stewart, Andrew Burdalski and Tom Dougherty each won one individual event and ran on a winning relay team Tuesday to help Coronado’s boys track team pull out a 71-70 win at Silverado.
Sever Stewart swept the hurdle events Friday to lead Faith Lutheran’s boys cross country team to victory in the Richard Lewis Invitational in Overton.
Kevin Burdalski cleared 13 feet, 3 inches to win the pole vault and help host Coronado’s boys track team to a first-place finish in the Spring Break Invitational on Wednesday.
Noah Ayala, Ian Jackson and Keith Williams ran on three winning distance relay teams Friday to help Arbor View’s boys track team finish first in the O’Dea Relays at Palo Verde.
