FLAG FOOTBALL: DeLong helps Spartans nip Mojave

Logan DeLong threw four touchdown passes and ran for a score Friday as Cimarron-Memorial’s flag football team held off visiting Mojave, 32-30.

FIELDER’S CHOICES: Midway through, the Fieldies go to …

We’ve reached the unofficial halfway point of the prep football season, and I’m ready to hand out the Fieldies. My midseason awards usually include a free lunch and a T-shirt for the winners, but I’m saving money for a new pair of Jordans, so no dice this year.

BOYS SOCCER: Dragons upend No. 4 Tech

Diego Nieves and Ruben Ortiz each scored a goal Wednesday to lead Del Sol’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 road win over No. 4 Tech.

CROSS COUNTRY: Basic boys run to Southeast win

Basic’s boys cross country had four of the top six finishers, including race winner Steven Birch, on its way to victory in a Southeast League meet at Foothill on Wednesday.

VOLLEYBALL: Reed, Gators top visiting Rams

James Reed had 17 kills and seven digs Tuesday to help host Green Valley’s boys volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-27, 25-16, 26-24 win over Rancho.

SOFTBALL: Corn, Falcons down Coronado with four-run sixth

Jordan Corn went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and five RBIs on Thursday, and host Foothill’s softball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to top No. 2 Coronado, 11-9.

SOFTBALL: Miners rally to top Roadrunners

Klarissa Hernandez went 3-for-4, and Sunrise Mountain’s softball team scored four times in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday to pull out a 6-5 victory over visiting Tech.
