The lawsuit was filed by 50-year-old Christopher Moncado , who was hospitalized six months ago after staying at the Rio. He sent medical records and hospital bills to Ceasars, which owns the Rio, but has not received a response.

Five months after an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease was reported at the Rio, the number of confirmed cases of the pneumonia-like bacterial illness among guests has risen to seven, with 29 more cases suspected, the Southern Nevada Health District said Tuesday.

A Rio spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday that the hotel’s water systems have been disinfected after two guests reported cases of Legionnaires’ disease.
