Three Las Vegas Valley nongaming hotels have notified Nevada’s employment bureau that layoffs may be coming.
A notice to licensed gaming properties released Thursday evening states that restaurants that meet requirements set forth by the Governor’s Office may reopen but must get confirmation from the state Gaming Control Board before they can do so.
“We’ll see some great rates at hotels; we’ll see airfare sales,” travel expert Gabe Saglie said.
“If workers aren’t working and not getting paid, they do not pay dues,” union spokeswoman Bethany Khan told the Review-Journal. She added that nearly all of the union’s 60,000 members are laid off.
