This is the final week of the regular season in the Class 4A Sunset Region, and the playoff picture looks like my 4-year-old cousin’s finger-painting. It’s a complete mess.

Siara Roberts had seven kills, 23 assists, six aces and 23 digs Friday to lead Centennial’s girls volleyball team to a 26-24, 25-16, 25-27, 25-20 win at Legacy.
Sure enough, league play in the Class 4A Sunset Region and Class 3A starts this week, the true indicator that summer is done. Even Bishop Gorman is taking a break from irking out-of-state fanbases to play a Southwest League contest against Bonanza. (I didn’t include that game in my picks, but, spoiler alert, Gorman is going to win.)
Centennial’s Marcella Brooks had two goals and an assist Monday to lead the host Bulldogs to a 3-2 win over Shadow Ridge.
Nicklaus Dongmann scored three goals and had an assist on the road for the Arbor View boys soccer team Monday, as the Aggies blanked Faith Lutheran, 5-0.
Rachel Klopfer had 13 kills and six digs for Green Valley, and Anya Olsen added 11 kills and six digs in the Gators’ 25-9, 25-22, 25-19 road victory over Desert Oasis.
Bishop Gorman’s boys tennis team swept the doubles sets Tuesday en route to an 11-7 Southwest League road victory over Clark, snapping the Chargers’ 68-match win streak.
