Tayah Washington had 15 kills and 11 digs on Wednesday to lead Faith Lutheran’s girls volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8 win over visiting Legacy.
Sure enough, league play in the Class 4A Sunset Region and Class 3A starts this week, the true indicator that summer is done. Even Bishop Gorman is taking a break from irking out-of-state fanbases to play a Southwest League contest against Bonanza. (I didn’t include that game in my picks, but, spoiler alert, Gorman is going to win.)

Gavin Mangan went 3-0 in singles Friday to help Basic’s boys tennis team pull out a 10-8 road win over Desert Pines.
