Palo Verde’s girls swimming and diving team won its third consecutive 4A state championship Saturday at the Carson Aquatic Facility, while the boys team won its fifth consecutive title with not nearly as much drama or challenge.

Jack Trent, the two-time defending state champion from Palo Verde shot 2-under-par 70 to tie for the lead after the first day of the Class 4A State Boys Golf Championship at Toiyabe Golf Club.
Coronado sophomore Dylan Fritz will look to continue his hot play during the Class 4A state tournament that takes place Monday and Tuesday at Toiyabe Golf Club in Washoe Valley.
