Carlos Manuel Perez Jr., 28, died on Nov. 12, 2014, while he was serving an 18- to 48-month sentence for battery at High Desert State Prison, in Indian Springs.

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo appointed Greg Gordon to serve in Department C of the court’s Family Division, according to a news release.
The intent of the law that was passed in 2021 and took effect January 1 was to decriminalize most traffic violations, turn charges into civil infractions and keep people out of jail.
