Steve Rushfield, a Family Court marshal at the center of an FBI investigation into allegations of excessive force and other misconduct, has been let go, the Las Vegas Review-Journal has learned.

A Las Vegas physician has been arrested on federal health care fraud and drug distribution charges in Syracuse, N.Y. Mahesh Kuthuru, 43, who runs Desert Pain Management in Las Vegas, was indicted Wednesday with Bonnie Meislin, 42, an employee of his New York pain clinic.
The Clark County District Attorney’s office has set a 72-hour deadline for someone to assert ownership of the dogs or they will be turned over to the Animal Foundation and put up for adoption.
Police found 43-year-old Ricky Finley dead from a gunshot wound on Feb. 22 about 5 p.m. Their initial investigation found that Finley had an argument with two unknown men prior to the shooting.
A woman told Las Vegas detectives that a man who kicked in her door early Thursday morning forced her onto a couch, fondled her and unbuckled his pants before becoming distracted as police cars arrived on the scene.
The rare decision by a judge to overturn a jury, which is being appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court, means Mariann Harris could get a new trial despite being convicted on Oct. 2 for the murder of Dyon Johnson in August 2011.
