Attorneys for a man accused of breaking into Wayne Newton’s home said in closing arguments Thursday he was used as a scapegoat to close the case quickly.

A 22-year-old man faces 11 felony charges including burglary, home invasion and grand larceny in connection with two June 2018 break-ins at the Las Vegas entertainer’s southeast valley home.
Michael Onate, 2, had injuries over his entire body, including bruising, broken ribs and second-degree burns, that prosecutors said were the result of ongoing abuse.
