BASEBALL: Gorman rallies twice to stun Shadow Ridge

Braxton Wehrle’s two-out single to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Bryce Ruggeroli with the winning run as Bishop Gorman’s baseball team rallied in both the seventh and eighth innings to edge visiting Shadow Ridge 7-6 on Tuesday.

NOTES: Desert Pines linebacker Fields tackles recruiting with gusto

Tony Fields, a 6-foot-2-inch, 205-pound linebacker, has been one of the area’s most heavily recruited players this spring. He has 19 scholarship offers — Northwestern was the most recent on April 30 — and his family has racked up plenty of hotel points over the past month and a half making unofficial visits on the weekends.

BASEBALL: Boulder City rallies to stun Spring Valley

Zach Murphy drew a bases-loaded walk to force home Austin Wishard with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday as Boulder City’s baseball team rallied for a 5-4 win over visiting Spring Valley.

GRIZZLY INVITATIONAL: Ball’s single helps Legacy top Coronado

Johnny Ball had an RBI single that plated the go-ahead run during a nine-run seventh inning that lifted the Legacy baseball team to a 12-7 win over Coronado in the Grizzly Invitational at Spring Valley on Tuesday.
