The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society plans to kick off its 49th season this week by pushing the musical envelope in a concert that members hope will attract people who have never seen the classically trained group perform before.
The group — made up of the full Musical Arts Chorus and the select Musical Arts Singers — typically performs works by big-name classical composers such as Mozart, Handel, Bach and Beethoven. But the show scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, is set to open with “Missa Criolla,” a contemporary Mass by Argentinean composer Ariel Ramirez.

I have a great marriage. But with one problem. My husband gets all … hurt when I don’t respond to his sexual flirtation. If he texts me something during the day, and I don’t respond, he’s hurt and pouts. If he leaves me a sexy voice mail and I don’t join in, same thing. I tell him that sometimes I’m just not in the mood and my head’s not there. I point out to him the other times I do respond is when I’m feeling sexy, too. I don’t know why he takes this so personally. Is there anything I can do to make him not get hurt just because I’m not in the mood? — D.L., Seattle

The formation is about three miles long from north to south and one mile wide.
Question: I was wondering when is the best time to transplant the Amaryllis plants — now or in the spring? They bloomed beautifully this past summer but seem to be getting a bit pot-bound. I also wonder if regular potting soil is best, and when and how often they need to be fertilized?
