Cheryl Ruettiger lives in Henderson, but she may as well be a Summerlin resident. Her efforts to further the arts revolve around Summerlin, where she is the executive director of the Rudy Foundation, named for her husband, Rudy Ruettiger, the subject of the 1993 movie “Rudy.”

Military/veteran caregiver and Henderson resident Amber Linder traveled to Washington, D.C., in April to meet with members of Congress and attend a White House event hosted by first lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. Linder was selected as an Elizabeth Dole Fellow and serves as a spokeswoman and adviser to the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, which was founded by Sen. Elizabeth Dole to provide better support to the 5.5 million loved ones caring for ill and injured service members.
