“A 9/11 Christmas: A Christmas to Remember,” written and illustrated by Las Vegas author Michael Pascoe, follows the journey of a Douglas fir tree from Christmas Valley, Ore., to New York City in the wake of the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attacks. Can Doug bring joy to a city in sorrow? At least one little girl who lost her father in the disaster finds comfort in the tree’s presence. With more than 30 years in the music business, drummer and producer Dan Shinder knows a thing or two about success. His latest venture is Drum Talk TV. It launched in January and now reaches a half million viewers in 70 countries. It would never have grown to that point, he said, if he hadn’t known how to market himself. Now, Shinder has begun a seminar-based program called Marketing The Creative Mind. The next one is set for Dec. 14 in Las Vegas.
