Mitchell Abbott and Aarjav Patel each shot a 1-under-par 71 at Rhodes Ranch on Thursday to share medalist honors and lead the Bishop Gorman boys golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

Nikita Nazarov won two events on Saturday to lead Sierra Vista’s boys swimming team to a 133-101 win over Cheyenne at Pavilion.
Pascual Chavez had 18 kills, and Troy-Toese Fautanu had 16 kills to help Liberty’s boys volleyball team edge visiting Legacy on Thursday, 25-11, 20-25, 19-25, 26-24, 15-8.
James Delaney pinch hit in the seventh inning with Sierra Vista down a run, and hit a two-out, two-run double to help the Mountain Lions’ baseball team score three in the seventh and out-slug host Durango, 17-16 on Wednesday.
Sierra Vista’s softball team smashed nine home runs, and the Mountain Lions overcame Durango for a 25-15 victory on Wednesdayafternoon.
Tanner Franklin had 22 kills and 13 digs, and Justin Ahlstrom added 31 assists as Shadow Ridge’s boys volleyball team got past Las Vegas for a 18-25, 25-21, 25-16, 22-25, 15-7 home victory on Tuesday night.
Carlos Hernandez and R.J. Forbus combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Rancho blanked visiting Sierra Vista in the Diamondback Kickoff Tournament on Thursday.
