Durango staved off a late-inning rally by Silverado to win the 4A state baseball title Saturday, its first since 1999.
Durango baseball’s Xander Mercurius threw a complete game and had two hits in the Trailblazers’ playoff win to earn Nevada Preps Boys Athlete of the Week honors.
The Durango baseball team edged Sierra Vista and will play in the winners’ bracket of the Class 4A state tournament. Check out all of Saturday’s playoff action.
The high school baseball playoffs begin Monday, and there will be a new Class 5A state champion after an eventful season on and off the field. Here’s a preview.
