Eldorado
With a talented group of underclassmen, Coronado scored 449 points Friday to roll to the Class 4A Desert Region title at UNLV.
The Cougars finished with 452 points to claim the title. Green Valley finished second with 444 points, and Bishop Gorman finished third with 284 points.
Karson Bailey had 24 kills Wednesday to help Boulder City’s boys volleyball to a 25-18, 23-25, 26-24, 25-17 win at Mojave.
Benjamin Sawaia carded a 3-over-par 75 at Reflection Bay on Wednesday to help Coronado’s boys golf team win a Southeast League match.
Anthony Hunter had 34 points, six assists and five steals on Thursday to lead Durango’s boys basketball team to an 83-67 home win over Spring Valley.
Kaylin Hall threw three touchdown passes Thursday as Coronado’s flag football knocked off host Green Valley 21-12 for the Gators’ first loss of the season.
Alyssa Maillaro led all scorers with 26 points to help Palo Verde’s girls basketball team score a 72-54 home win over Desert Pines on Monday evening.
Ian Dalton made 11 saves on Wednesday, including a penalty kick a minute into the second half, to preserve Shadow Ridge’s 1-0 home win over Canyon Springs in boys soccer.
Madison Sonerholm scored with just more than nine minutes to play Wednesday to give Faith Lutheran’s girls soccer team a 1-0 road win over Arbor View.

Holly Severence homered and drove in three runs Saturday to help the Desert Oasis softball team beat Silverado 14-6 in six innings in the championship game of the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, California.
Bonanza’s Keanu Atienza-Sabagala scored on a passed ball with one out in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bengals a 3-2 win over visiting Silverado on Saturday in the Bengal Varsity Tournament.
LaDavia Pierson scored 10 points, and Eldorado’s girls basketball team held on for a 28-26 home win over Las Vegas High on Wednesday night.
The Wildcats led by as many as 14 points in the second quarter, and watched the lead dry up to just three points in the fourth. Donovan Joyner’s 37 points helped stake Las Vegas a big enough lead that it could hold on and outlast host Eldorado, 82-73.
