Sebastian Mack scored 30 points, and Durango had an answer every time Faith Lutheran made a run in a 78-66 win in the first round of the Class 4A state tournament.
Mwani Wilkinson scored 23 points, and his layup off a pass from Ryan Abelman with 1.8 seconds left lifted Bishop Gorman to a 61-59 win over Liberty.
The Bishop Gorman boys and Centennial girls are clear favorites once again, but there are some sleepers that could do some damage in the postseason.
Arbor View’s Israel Mann and Rickey Jones, Legacy’s Lee Wilson and BJ Phillips, and Bishop Gorman’s Mark Person and James Petrie will play at Southwest Minnesota State.
