Centennial junior Alexis Gourrier won the Sunset regional cross country championship and helped the Bulldogs to the team title.
Green Valley senior Omar Rubio won the Sunrise regional cross country meet as the Gators coasted to the team championship.
Omar Rubio led the way, as he once again edged Arbor View’s Ian Jackson at the end to win the 3.1-mile race. Rubio sprinted away in the final 300 meters to win in 16 minutes, 24.4 seconds. Jackson finished second in 16:26.9.
Ben Gajardo went 3-0 in singles Thursday to lead the Desert Oasis boys tennis team to a 13-5 road victory over Centennial in a Class 4A Sunset Region boys quarterfinal.
Tayah Washington had 15 kills and 11 digs on Wednesday to lead Faith Lutheran’s girls volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8 win over visiting Legacy.
