Lincoln County’s girls basketball team surrendered a game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation and fell to White Pine in overtime in the Class 1A state championship game on Saturday.

Kendra Mathews scored eight of her 15 points in the fourth quarter Friday, and Lincoln County’s girls basketball team used a game-ending 10-2 run to defeat Battle Mountain, 50-42 in a Class 2A state semifinal at Sparks High.
Powered by the play of senior Brynlee Wadsworth, Lincoln County scored 19 consecutive points in the first half Saturday and never looked back in taking a 49-33 victory over Needles.
Paige Murch and Preslee Murch each scored 18 points to lift the Mustangs’ girls basketball team to a 58-42 win at Del Sol, and send Needles to Southern League championship game for the fourth time in five years.
