Arbor View’s boys cross country team and Centennial’s girls team won Class 4A Sunset Regional titles on Friday morning at Veterans Memorial Park.
Girls Cross Country
Arbor View’s Keith Williams led at the front of a pack of five runners early. Eventually, he managed to hold off PahrumpValley’s Bryce Odegard and Centennial’s Alexander Miller in the final quarter mile, putting in a good finishing kick to cross the line in 16 minutes and 13 seconds.
Milton Amezcua cruised to victory in the 3.1-mile boys varsity race at the Lake Mead Invitational at Veterans Memorial Park with a time of 16 minutes, 48 seconds to lead the Gators to a team victory with 51 points.
Isabella Davis finished Tuesday’s 3.1-mile race in 24 minutes, 1 second to finished first at the girls cross country meet at Tech.
The Diamondbacks return five letter winners and are working to be more competitive against the top programs.
