GIRLS SOCCER: Donnelly helps Crusaders move into tie for first

Megan Donnelly’s first-half goal accounted for all of the scoring, and Faith Lutheran’s girls soccer team moved into a tie for first place in the Sunset League with a 1-0 win at Western on Tuesday.

Ricardo Gonzalez, Isaac Arellano and Nathaniel Reyes each scored a first-half goal Friday to help Western’s boys soccer team hold off visiting Clark, 3-2.

Marisa Olmos and Ashleigh Rodriguez met when they were in fifth grade. They went to the same middle school, played travel softball together the past six years and now are juniors at Liberty.

Annalise Esparza scored five minutes into the match and assisted on Natasha Martin’s goal with two minutes left in the second half Tuesday as Cimarron-Memorial’s girls soccer team topped visiting Desert Oasis, 2-0.
