Eldorado freshman Matthew Manganello used a stretch of four consecutive birdies on his back nine to force a playoff, and he went on to defeat Coronado’s Grant McKay on the second extra hole to take medalist honors at the Division I Sunrise Region boys golf tournament.
Coronado’s Grant McKay rebounded from a double-bogey 7 on his second hole to shoot 2-over-par 74 at Badlands Golf Club and holds a three-stroke lead after the first round of the Division I Sunrise Region boys golf tournament.
Grant McKay and Dylan Fritz each shot an even-par 72 at Anthem on Tuesday to share medalist honors and help Coronado’s boys golf team to victory in a Southeast League match.
