Chris Cortez fired a two-hit shutout Wednesday to lead Silverado’s baseball team to a 4-0 home win over Eldorado.
Martel Williams, a 6-foot-3 muscular, junior wing, scored 24 of his 38 points after halftime, and added 10 rebounds in an 85-74 home victory Wednesday night over Green Valleyin the second round of the Desert Region tournament.
Jacquellen Stobbe had 19 assists to help Pahrump Valley’s girls volleyball team beat host Mojave, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23, 10-25, 15-12 on Wednesday.
Estevan Zavala and and Alan Lopez each scored two second-half goals as Tech’s boys soccer team rallied to stun host Bishop Gorman and win 2-1 on Wednesday.
Silverado’s Kristyn Lommason and Vanessa Gallegos each scored second-half goals and the visiting Skyhawks blanked Spring Valley in girls soccer on Thursday, 2-0.
Whitley Brow had 11 kills and 16 digs, and Aysia Mabry added four kills, four aces and 17 digs to help Foothill’s girls volleyball team outlast visiting Green Valley, 25-12, 21-25, 25-20, 8-25, 15-8 on Thursday.
Shilo Chow had 34 assists, four kills and six blocks, and Colin Curi added 10 kills and six digs Monday to help host Foothill’s boys volleyball team to a 25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20 win over Coronado.
Adam Garcia and Dakota Humphries combined on a no-hitter Thursday as defending Division I state champion Coronado began its baseball season with an 8-0 win over visiting Legacy in the Bengal Varsity Tournament.
