A teenager accused of mowing down a retired police chief in a fatal hit-and-run last month told police he thought he would receive a “slap on the wrist,” according to an arrest report.

The 17-year-old accused of ramming a car into retired California police chief Andreas Probst is facing a murder charge in connection with the death.
The crash occurred around 7:55 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard North, near Cheyenne Avenue.
Lahela Kaiwi-Brewer pleaded guilty in June to voluntary manslaughter for fatally shooting a woman who confronted her last year about giving the other woman’s children a ride to school.
