The shooting deaths of five women at two unrelated scenes in North Las Vegas within a week in March helped more than double the number of homicides city police investigated during the first quarter of the year.
Police used video surveillance footage and spent bullet cartridges to identify a teen suspect in the homicide of another teen in the parking lot of a grocery store.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a 37-year-old man at a North Las Vegas residence in February.
The teen killed in a shooting in a hotel room just off the Las Vegas Strip was a student at Legacy High School in North Las Vegas and played football there.
