Arbor View’s Keith Williams led at the front of a pack of five runners early. Eventually, he managed to hold off PahrumpValley’s Bryce Odegard and Centennial’s Alexander Miller in the final quarter mile, putting in a good finishing kick to cross the line in 16 minutes and 13 seconds.
Four of the top five placers at Saturday’s 3-mile Red Rock Invitational Sunset Meet at Floyd Lamb Park were members of Centennial’s girls cross country team, and the Bulldogs cruised to a victory with 19 team points.
Bryce Odegard from Pahrump Valley’s boys cross country team completed the 3-mile race at Floyd Lamb Park on Saturday in 15 minutes, 36 seconds to win the Red Rock Invitational Sunset Meet.
Coronado’s baseball team scored seven runs in the second inning on Monday and held on for an 8-7 road win over second-ranked Bishop Gorman.

James Camp scored on a layup with six seconds remaining Thursday to give Palo Verde’s boys basketball team a 56-55 victory over host Arbor View.
Justice Ethridge scored 15 points Thursday to lead the Centennial girls basketball team to an easy 65-21 home win over Legacy. It was Centennial coach Karen Weitz’s 600th career win.
Kavon Williams scored a game-high 16 points to help Cheyenne’s boys basketball team upset visiting Desert Pines, 56-52 on Tuesday.
Adrianna Jones dropped in a game-high 21 points, and Western’s girls basketball team held on for a 51-48 victory over visiting Mojave on Tuesday.
