Olivia Kaiser had eight kills, and Mariah Martin dished out 17 assists to help host Calvary Chapel’s volleyball team hand White Pine its first Division III Southern League loss of the year, 25-21, 25-16 in the second match of a doubleheader on Friday.

VOLLEYBALL: Norr, Diamondbacks rally to top Cimarron

Madison Norr had 15 kills and five aces Tuesday to lead Desert Oasis’ girls volleyball team to a 21-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 15-10 victory over visiting Cimarron-Memorial.

Kiley McCall had 24 assists and three aces, and Alyssa McCoy added 11 kills and three blocks on Friday to help Foothill’s girls volleyball team to a 25-15, 25-9, 28-26 sweep of visiting Rancho.

Nikki Jackson had 16 kills and three blocks to help Coronado’s girls volleyball team to an 18-25, 25-21, 15-12 win over Bishop Gorman in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix on Friday.

CROSS COUNTRY: Blaine helps Mustangs edge Centennial boys

Johnathon Blaine won a 3.1-mile race in 16 minutes, 52.1 seconds on Tuesday to help Shadow Ridge’s boys cross country team nip Centennial and win a six-team meet at Lone Mountain Park.
