FIELDER’S CHOICES: Midway through, the Fieldies go to …

We’ve reached the unofficial halfway point of the prep football season, and I’m ready to hand out the Fieldies. My midseason awards usually include a free lunch and a T-shirt for the winners, but I’m saving money for a new pair of Jordans, so no dice this year.

Patriots’ Dedeaux accounts for seven TDs in win over Hawaii power

Liberty looked like a clear underdog going into Friday’s game with Mililani High, the defending Hawaii state champion and the state’s top-ranked team. But the game instead turned into one of the Patriots’ biggest victories and a showcase for their all-everything junior, Ethan Dedeaux.

NOTES: Legacy’s ‘unblockable’ Shaw shows what fuss is about

Legacy football coach John Isola watched the highlight film from Derriyon Shaw’s junior season and thought the transfer from Sugar Hill, Ga., was a talented player. But Isola needed to see it with his own eyes.
