For the fourth consecutive year, the Review-Journal printed its editions Wednesday on pink newsprint in recognition of October as breast cancer awareness month. The proceeds from retail sales, as well as the money raised at Wednesday’s Pink Paper Day Breakfast event, will go to Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada and the American Cancer Society.
MountainView Hospital is one of four sites in the nation for clinical testing of the new Firefly system, which allows surgeons to see lymph nodes that are first in line from the area where cancer is growing.
At age 4, local artist Laszlo Kristof was diagnosed with leukemia. Kristof is one of a dozen artists participating in this year’s Affair of the Art auction to raise money for the Las Vegas chapter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
