Las Vegas police say a lack of New Year’s Eve fireworks on the Strip has them preparing for an increase in nuisance house parties in neighborhoods throughout the valley.

The Metropolitan Police Department and community leaders discussed New Year’s Eve preparations with members of the news media on Tuesday.
With the Strip’s annual midnight fireworks show canceled, fewer roadways will be closed to vehicular and fewer officers will be required to patrol them, Las Vegas police said.
