Donovan Gladney’s infield single plated Tanner Albright with the winning run in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday to lift Rancho’s baseball team to a 4-3 win at Spring Valley.

Sophomore Gabriel Achucarro, using his unconventional delivery, threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts to stymie the Sierra Vista offense and lead Chatsworth (California) to a 4-0 win in the Steven Janvrin Championship game of the Blazer Spring Bash at Durango High.
Boulder City right-hander Jacob Hubel allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings as the Eagles shocked the defending region champion Faith Lutheran, 4-3. Hubel only needed 79 pitches to dispatch the Crusaders. He threw 52 strikes and 27 balls.
Faith Lutheran right-hander Brandon Johnson just smiled and shook his head after teammate Erich Uelmen said he threw harder than Johnson.
