Coronado and Bishop Gorman will play for the Class 5A boys basketball state title at 7 p.m. Friday after the teams were victorious in their state semifinals Thursday.

Members from the local basketball community are paying tribute to Valley High School boys basketball coach Kevan Wilkins, who died Saturday at 60.
After the Big City Showdown, Bishop Gorman, Durango, Liberty and Coronado have all established themselves as contenders for the Class 5A boys basketball state title.
The Durango boys moved up to No. 2 in the Class 5A Southern Nevada basketball rankings. The Bishop Gorman boys and Centennial girls remain No. 1 in 5A.
Bishop Gorman, ranked No. 12 nationally by MaxPreps fell to No. 19 West Ranch (California) 67-62 in the Platinum Bracket championship game in the Tarkanian Classic on Thursday night.
