Bishop Gorman quarterback Micah Alejado threw five touchdown passes as the Gaels rolled past Palo Verde 70-0 Friday night in a Class 5A Desert League game.
Palo Verde is a public school located between Bishop Gorman and Faith Lutheran, trying to find football success in the shadow of those private institutions.
Arbor View limited Palo Verde to 90 yards of offense, and the Panthers crossed the 50-yard line only once. Arbor View also forced four turnovers.
Caden Harris scored three touchdowns, rushing 16 times for 164 yards and catching four passes for 89 to lead Class 4A’s top-ranked Silverado past Palo Verde.
Liberty jumped out a 39-0 lead in the first half and cruised home for an easy win over Palo Verde in the season opener for both teams.
Bishop Gorman and Liberty again are expected to win league championships and meet for a state championship game berth.
