Clark boys soccer coach Juan Chavez said his team’s good fortune this season started when senior Ivan Lopez became a leader.

The Chargers’ good fortune on Tuesday came largely because of Lopez.

Manuel Ponce scored four goals, including the match-winner on a penalty kick with less than 10 minutes remaining, to help Bonanza’s boys soccer team to a 5-4 win over visiting Arbor View on Tuesday.

SOCCER: Reyes leads Clark girls by Desert Shields

Ariana Reyes scored three goals, including the game-winner with five minutes remaining, to help Clark’s girls soccer team rally for a 4-3 win over host Cheyenne on Friday.

NOTES: Liberty softball duo Olmos, Rodriguez commit to Duke

Marisa Olmos and Ashleigh Rodriguez met when they were in fifth grade. They went to the same middle school, played travel softball together the past six years and now are juniors at Liberty.
