WINNEMUCCA — Green Valley’s quest to win a fourth straight state wrestling title got off to a solid start on the first day of the Division I tournament Friday.

Taij Criss-Felton scored 19 points Thursday as Chaparral wrapped up its first girls basketball league title in more than 20 years with a 63-43 win over visiting Desert Pines.

Cody Burnside hit the tiebreaking layup with 16 seconds left Monday to lift Virgin Valley’s boys basketball team to a 47-45 win over visiting Sunrise Mountain.

Bobbi Floyd scored 30 points Monday to lead Clark’s girls basketball team to a 54-48 win at Mojave.
