I-A SWIMMING: Boulder City boys, girls earn titles

Boulder City’s boys made it somewhat interesting by scoring 110 points to defeat second-place Sierra Vista by 25 points. But the girls dominated throughout, scoring 156 points to easily get past second-place Truckee, which finished with 111 points. It was the sixth consecutive championship for the Eagles’ boys and the fourth straight for the girls.

I-A GOLF: Crusaders roll to fourth consecutive title

Four Crusaders improved on their first-round scores — and five shot in the 70s — as Faith Lutheran finished with a team score of 769 and ran away with the Division I-A Southern Region title by 77 strokes over Pahrump Valley at Siena Golf Club.

I-A BASEBALL: Wishard’s 11th-inning homer lifts Boulder City to win

Austin Wishard hit a three-run home run on a 0-2 pitch with no outs in the bottom of the 11th inning Wednesday to lift Boulder City’s baseball team to a 5-2 win over Spring Valley in a winners’bracket semifinal of the Division I-A Southern Region tournament.

I-A GOLF: Faith Lutheran’s Magruder sets school record, takes commanding lead

Faith Lutheran’s Charlie Magruder made one of his seven birdies of the day on the final hole and finished 6-under-par 66 at Palm Valley to break a school record and take a commanding lead at the midway point of the Division I-A Southern Region tournament.

BASEBALL: Durango holds off Faith Lutheran

Durango’s baseball team plated three runs in the bottom of the second Friday and held on for a 4-3 home win over Faith Lutheran.

BASEBALL: Centennial holds on to give Cerrone 400th career victory

Jake Rogers pitched out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the bottom of the seventh to help Centennial’s baseball team escape with a 7-6 victory over host Cimarron-Memorial on Wednesday and give head coach Charlie Cerrone his 400th career win at the school.
