The Palo Verde softball team rolled to a home win over Coronado on Friday for the Class 5A Southern Region title. Both teams are headed to the state tournament.

Coronado senior Kendall Selitzky got out of a jam in the final inning to beat Shadow Ridge and send the Cougars to the Class 5A state softball tournament.
Pharaoh Compton had 28 points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots to lead the Aggies to a road win over the Cougars in a game that was rescheduled twice.
